TechCamp West Africa postponed over Ebola Scare

We want to thank you for your interest and enthusiasm to participate in the ground breaking event, Tech Camp West Africa.  Unfortunately, due to the uncertainties regarding the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and the decision of the ECOWAS commission to impose a three month moratorium on all international conferences, we have decided with our implementing partners, GhanaThink Foundation, to postpone the event.  For more information about ebola we encourage all to visit www.cdc.gov and www.travel.state.gov.

We remain committed to staging an extraordinary forum that will bring together the best and brightest private and social entrepreneurs in West Africa and hope to reschedule this event in the February – March 2015 timeframe.  We hope to confirm a new date soon, and will be in touch shortly.  We are hopeful that travel will ease with Liberia and Nigeria by that time.

We are evaluating the hundreds of applications, and anticipate advising you if you’ve been accepted by the end of September

In the meantime,   we are interested in hosting monthly online chats which we hope will be of interest to all of you.  The first will take place Friday, September 12th at 11am featuring Sheena Lindahl (read more about her here: http://iempact.com/new/about.php ) . We hope you will participate through US Embassy Ghana’s facebook page or twitter @USEmbassyGhana and @Ghanathink.  We welcome your suggestions for topics which you’d like to tackle at the camp itself of in advance through on-line discussions.  Please forward your suggestions to info@ghanathink.org.

Once again we thank you for your patience, understanding and unwavering interest in Tech Camp West Africa. We look forward to continue working with you.
