Mayweather Matches 49-0 Rocky Marciano Record

Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather has brought his boxing career to a successful conclusion following a win over Andre Berto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

It was a somewhat easy win for TMT boss after his flawless punches earned him 120-108, 118-110 and 117-111 points from the three judges.

Mayweather, 38, who announced his retirement from the game after 19 years (17 years as a world champion) matched the 49-0 record of retired boxer Rocky Marciano.

“My career is over. It’s official,” he stated during his post-match speech.

The man who was briefly chanted by fans as “TBE! TBE!” (The Best Ever) also noted that Andre Berto is “a tough competitor, but experience played a major role tonight.”

“You got to know when to hang it up, and it’s time for me to hang it up. I’m not going to be doing this when I’m 40 years old,” he added.

In May this year, he earned $250 million after winning the Fight of the Year bout against Manny Pacquiao.
