According to an eyewitness report, this unfortunate incident took place Tuesday morning on the runway in an emergency landing situation which eventually caused severe damage to the landing gear.
Management of the airline company has since confirmed the story in a press statement stating the the company “is cooperating fully with the authorities in charge. This was signed by the CEO Mr. James Eric Antwi dated 6th October 2015.
Statement from Starbow Airline
We have received notification that Starbow flight S9110, which was en-route from Accra to Tamale, has been involved in minor incident today 6th October 2015.
As a result, Starbow‘s BAe aircraft with registration 9GSBB went through the barricade at the end of the Tamale runway and stopped. It is noteworthy that, both the crew and the passengers were disembarked safely via the stairs.
Our sincere concern goes out to all of the passengers, friends and families involved. We are still gathering the facts concerning the event. Starbow is cooperating fully with the Authorities in charge.
