Love Crowned Winner of Di Asa 2017

Love has emerged as the winner of the first-ever “Di Asa” dance television reality show for plus-size market women.

The show which initially ushered in sixty-two (62) contestants to the Di Asa house, brings to an end, 13 weeks of delightful dance performances and petrified eviction moments.

Real name Stella Appiah Newton, the contestant who represented Kasoa market faced stiff competition from nine (9) equally-good plus-size market women during the grand finale. They were Mama Gee, ML, Pandy, Bene, Irene, Amina, Acid, Lydia, and Rebecca.

The contestants exhibited some level of quality during the various segments [salsa, culture, and freestyle] of their performances.

The announcement of Love as the ultimate winner of the flagship programme, took place at a charged event held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the National Theatre in Accra.

She trounced her close competitors Mama Gee and Irene to the ultimate prize — they placed second and third, respectively.

The ultimate winner, Love, took home a brand new Suzuki Ciaz saloon car, fully-sponsored trip to Dubai, and sourvenirs from sponsors.

The first and second runners-up also took home a brand new Suzuki Carry pick-up truck (popularly known as Abossey Okai macho) and brand new Apsonic tricycle (commonly known as aboboyaa) respectively, as well as souvenirs from sponsors.

Each of the ten (10) finalists also home home a cash prize of GHc2,000 as well as sourvenirs from sponsors.

More so, Amina, who represented Tamale was given a special prize — she took home a motorbike, for her momentous stint in the dance competition.

The show which was hosted by Odiifuo and Ama Gyenfa, popularly known as Mbɔsoɔhemaa also saw performances from musicians like Nii Funny, Odarky Andy, Addi Govnor, Kwame Zaggy, D-Flex and many more.

The Di Asa 2017 TV reality show was powered by Atinka Media Village, operators of atinkaonline.com, Atinka TV, Atinka 104.7 FM (Accra), Agyenkwa 101.9 FM (Kumasi), and Ahotor 102.3 FM (Takoradi).
