Azonto Dance Afrobeats Workshop in Texas

Ace choreographers Jaajo and Usher 1 are set to take dance lovers in the United States of America through workshop.

Dubbed “Azonto Dance Afrobeats Workshop”, the two dance professional will teach dancers the sounds and styles of Azonto and Alkayida dance from Ghana and the ever-evolving Afrobeats from Nigeria.

Move your body and free your spirit with this high-energy dance class! Smooth, nuanced yet lively and stimulating, this workshop will have you exploring basic to advanced moves of both genres while getting the chance to infuse your own personal style.

This workshop will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Danzversity, 2110 White Horse Trail Suite A, Austin, 78757 from 12:00pm – 1:30pm and 2:00pm – 3:30pm local time.

Entry fee is $25 (online) and $30 cash at the door.

About Jaajo

Rasaq ‘Jaajo’ Lawal is a Nigerian-American residing in Houston, Texas, who has revolutionized the world of dance and fitness through his innovative mix of African culture, eclectic music, fitness and fun called Jaajo. He is CEO and Founder of JAAJO Dance.

Rasaq is a NASM certified group fitness instructor, director, producer and choreographer, who has performed on leading platforms such as So You Think You Can Dance Season Six (Celebrity Judge Round) and as opening performer for Academy award-winning group Three 6 Mafia. He was semi-finalist in the American College Dance Associate, an inductee of Nu Delta Alpha Dance Honor Society and Houston RAW Artist nominee.

About Usher 1

Usher Frimpong Moses is a sensational dance icon from Ghana. A choreographer, a dance instructor, voice of Artist (dancers) and the mastermind behind most of the salsa line dance and some dance arts you see in most of the Ghanaian music videos aired locally and internationally. He is the Founder and CEO of Flash Mob Ghana.

Moses Frimpong popularly known as Usher 1, is a chef by profession and dancing was a hobby but as time unfolded, dancing became his main profession and the other secondary. He is identified by his professionalism when it comes to dance and anything related to it. He is a dance maestro and has since the age of 5 grown to love dancing and does it with lots of passion.
