Germany wins 2014 FIFA World Cup


The Team of Germany has been crowned as winners of the FIFA World, Brasil 2014 following a keenly contested match at the Estadio Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.

A goal from 22-year old attacking midfielder, Mario Gotze late in the 2nd half of the extra time was enough to seal a victory for them, thanks to an assist from Chelsea FC‘s Andre Schurrle following his descent run from on the flank.

Germany who wins the world’s most prestigious sporting event for the fourth time also becomes the first European country to win the trophy on a South American soil.


In the end Lionel Messi won the Adidas Golden Ball award, Manuel Neuer won the Golden Glove award as Colombia’s James Rodriguez won the Golden Boot award with 6 goals and 2 assists, and the Hyundai Best Young Player went to Paul Pogba of France.
