Kekeli Eni, a pupil from the Roman Ridge School in Accra, gave GH¢453.20 to help deprived students. Together with his father, he brought all he had.
Over the years, many adults and independent companies have donated to the Citi Opportunity Project on Education. However, they had never had such a case before, when the 11-year-old boy contributed all he had to help the project – his two years savings.
As it became known to YEN Entertainment, the young pupil had a special box where he kept his coins he got from his guardians. One day he made up his mind to donate all he had to lend a hand to students who are intelligent enough but have no funds to continue their education. The boy’s father gave his son’s money on his behalf after he had helped the project.
The pupil donated GHc453.20. The entire sum was in coins which were delivered in a paper box. The denomination of coins: 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 5 pesewa.
The Citi Opportunity Project on Education was very grateful to the boy who gave everything to allow talented students continuing their studying. Citi FM initiated this project. It is aimed to gather money to help Ghanaian students get the better education and become real professionals.
In 2016, the project helped 22 needy students to continue studying. This year they plan to raise GHc250,000. It will allow helping almost 50 gifted students to join the university.
