Ghana’s music industry boasts of so many talents; however most of these acts [either up and coming or established ones] fail to live up to the expectation — with the production stage considered by experts as a major contributor to the make or break moment for each song.
Some musicians fail on the subject of this, owing to the fact that they lack some key elements during the production period — these include, but not limited to lyrical content, composition, delivery, originality and emotions.
Notwithstanding these defects, one Ghanaian musician who is on top of the game now, in this respect is sensational Afro-pop singer and prolific songwriter Balo, real name James Dodoo.
Formerly part of the music duo Cedi and Naira, Balo‘s thought-provoking choice of words for his songs is in a class of its own as far as Ghana’s music industry is concerned.
The Jamestown native who resides in Agege, a suburb of Accra, and grew up listening to global music icons likes Bob Marley, UB40, Boyz II Men and more, is a gem in vocal delivery — he has exhibited this quality on his songs ‘Will Be’ as well as ‘Magic’ excellently.
Balo‘s music is brewed in pure Ghanaian music pot — each single work of art from him is a masterpiece and this resonates the mind, body and soul of the listener.
Also credited with the groovy ‘Agege City’ song, the singer’s latest piece which is titled ‘Million‘ is one that will knock you off your feet. This particular song prouds itself in a very fine composition characterised by excellent vocal delivery [in harmony].
Balo also boasts of a very fine stage act — his ability to communicate with his audience perfectly, perform to live band well, good breath control, among others are some of the qualities that he has in recent past, been associated with.
With such distinctive attributes, he worked diligently in the past year. In spite of this, he has also given good grounds to outdo his achievements last year.
He stands out among his peers in the music game with his extra-ordinary skills in the art and as a result, he has been tipped to take the music scene by storm this year as he continues to release fine records.
Balo‘s songs are on Play Africa for purchase. The songs are also on all digital or online music streaming or download platforms.
