Shatta Wale’s Mum on 2018 VGMA
The mother of Zylofon Music act Shatta Wale, Mrs Elsie Evelyn Avemegah has passed a judgement on who will emerge as the winner of the ultimate ‘Artiste of the Year’ award at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Her pronouncement follows the announcement of the list of nominees for the 19th edition of arguably, the country’s most prestigious music award scheme.
Industry experts have tipped either the late musician Ebony or Shatta Wale to win in ultimate category; and Mrs Avemegah is of the view that her son stands tall despite the daring feat achieved by the former, during the year under review.

“There is one thing people don’t want to know…I know the charisma my son has; there is nothing that will pass by him..he is going to take it..no two ways about it,” she told Razz Online.
“I’m telling you that whatever the case may be, my son is going to take it…so I can not tell you that some one is going to take it and leave my son…my son is suppose to take and he will take it,” she reiterated.
Both Shatta Wale and Ebony have been nominated in the VGMA ‘Artiste of the Year’ category, together with Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, and Sarkodie.
Shatta Wale returns to the scheme, four (4) years after he was blacklisted by the VGMA Board for spitting venom against the scheme, Charterhouse Productions, as well as its CEO Mrs Theresa Ayoade.
The ‘Shito’ crooner won the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award at the 2014 VGMAs, where he faced stiff competition from Castro, Kwabena Kwabena, Sonnie Badu, Sarkodie, Samini and Guru.
