Ghana Flag goes Half-mast for Kofi Annan

The death of former Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) shook the world following the announcement by his foundation.

GlammyNews.com reported about the unfortunate demise of the great son of Ghana which was greeted with tributes from world leaders, diplomats, etc.

In view of this, the President of the Republic of Ghana H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed that the country’s national flag should run at half-mast from Monday, August 20, 2018, for one week.

According to him, this will be observed across the country and all of Ghana’s diplomatic missions across the world.

“I have directed that, in his honour, Ghana’s national flag will fly at half-mast across the country and in all of Ghana’s diplomatic missions across the world, from Monday, 20th August, 2018, for one week.

Rest in perfect peace, Kofi. You have earned it. God bless,” he added in a series of tweets, while eulogising the renowned global citizen.

Kofi Annan died on Saturday in Berne, Switzerland, aged 80. He left behind a wife Nane Maria and three (3) lovely children Ama, Kojo and Nina.
